Chrome Wheels
Chrome wheels deliver a mirror-bright, fully reflective finish that has defined American show-car style for decades. This page is for buyers who want maximum shine and a classic, high-polish look on trucks, luxury sedans, and standout builds that draw attention in any light.
What to know
True chrome is an electroplated layer over a polished base, which gives it depth and a liquid reflection that painted or machined finishes cannot match. That reflectivity reads brighter than silver or polished aluminum, so it tends to make a wheel design look larger and busier in the daylight. Spoke shape matters more here than with matte finishes: open, sculpted faces show off the mirror effect, while heavily concave or intricate designs can look cluttered under chrome.
Chrome works best when the rest of the vehicle has some brightwork to balance it. Fitment still comes down to bolt pattern, hub bore, and overall size, so confirm those specs against your vehicle before ordering regardless of how good a wheel looks on screen.
How to choose
Decide first whether you want a flashy showpiece or a clean daily setup, since chrome leans toward the former. Pay attention to plating quality, because thin or cheap chrome pits and peels, especially in winter road-salt regions. Choose a wheel offered in the exact diameter, width, and offset your fitment requires rather than forcing a near-match, and budget for regular cleaning, since water spots and brake dust are far more visible on a reflective surface. If your area sees harsh weather, ask whether a sealed or premium plating option is available.
Popular brands
Several brands offer chrome or high-polish options worth comparing. Rotiform brings distinctive multi-piece designs that suit a bright finish, while BBS is the benchmark for motorsport-rooted engineering and timeless mesh patterns. Avant Garde focuses on concave luxury fitments, Aodhan delivers aggressive looks at an accessible price, and Rohana rounds things out with clean, contemporary profiles.

Frequently asked questions
Is chrome harder to maintain than other finishes? Yes. It shows water spots, fingerprints, and brake dust more readily, so plan on frequent cleaning with a non-abrasive chrome-safe product and avoid harsh wheel acids.
Does chrome hold up in winter? Quality plating handles it, but road salt and moisture are the main enemies. Rinse often during winter and consider a different finish if your wheels live in heavy salt year-round.
Can any wheel be ordered in chrome? Not all models offer it, and availability depends on the brand's finish lineup along with your required bolt pattern, bore, and size.

Nothing turns heads like a mirror-finish wheel, whether it's 24s on a lifted truck or Torq Thrust-style 17s on a classic. Below you'll find which chrome designs suit trucks versus cars, what sizes real owners run, and how to keep the plating bright. Start with the grid above, then use the guide to narrow it down.
Popular designs, side by side

Moto Metal COMBAT
A big-truck chrome wheel offered in 20x10, 22x10, 22x12 and 24x12. It covers 6-lug (6x135, 6x139.7) and 8-lug (8x165.1, 8x170, 8x180) patterns, so it works for half-tons and heavy-duty trucks alike. The 10 and 12-inch widths are built to push the wheel out past the fender for an aggressive stance. The trade-off is that wide, poked-out sizes usually need a lift or trimming to clear at full lock, so check your exact truck in the fitment search.

MASSIV 926
A big-diameter chrome wheel for cars, offered in 22x9, 24x9 and 26x9.5. It's the pick when you want maximum diameter on a car without going extra wide. Next to the other car designs here, it runs the biggest sizes. At 24 and 26 inches the tire sidewall gets very thin, so expect a firmer ride and be careful around potholes.

Fittipaldi Offroad FA25C
The widest chrome wheel on this page, offered in 24x12, 24x14 and 26x14 for 6x135 and 8-lug trucks. It's made for lifted builds where the wheel and tire are the whole show. Nothing else here goes to 14 inches wide. Widths like that sit well outside the fender on most trucks, so plan the lift, the tires and possibly fender work before you order.

American Racing Vintage VN516 G-FORCE
A classic and muscle-car style chrome wheel offered in 17x7, 18x9, 18x10, 20x8.5 and 20x10. It comes in 5x114.3, 5x120.65 and 5x127. The size spread lets you run a period-looking square 17 or a modern staggered 18 or 20 setup. If you want a modest-width front with a bigger rear, check that your exact car takes the stagger in the fitment search.

Foose 1PC F105 LEGEND
Foose's five-spoke Legend in full chrome, offered in 17x8, 20x8.5 and 20x10 for 5x114.3, 5x115, 5x120 and 5x120.65. It's a clean, muscle-car look that suits modern muscle and restomods equally well. One customer runs a Foose Legend at 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear on a 2009 Challenger, a setup these sizes match. The five-spoke face is easy to clean but shows every swirl, so wash gently.

DOLCE LUXURY TRENTO
A luxury-car chrome wheel offered in 20x9, 24x9 and 24x10, in 5x112 and 5x115 only. It's aimed at big sedans and coupes that want a dressed-up, high-shine look. It has the narrowest bolt pattern list of the car designs here, so confirm your pattern first. The 24-inch sizes are a big jump in diameter and usually call for low-profile tires.

Fuel 1PC 402
The only design here with a two-tone finish: chrome with a gloss black lip. It's offered in 20x9, 22x12 and 24x12 for 6x139.7, 8x165.1 and 8x170. The black lip tones down the bling a little and frames the tire nicely on dark trucks. The 20x9 is the easy-fit size, while the 22x12 and 24x12 are for trucks set up to run wide wheels.

Heritage Wheel KOKORO MonoC
A one-piece chrome wheel with a JDM flavor, offered only in 18x8.5. It covers six car patterns: 5x108, 5x110, 5x112, 5x114.3, 5x115 and 5x120. That makes it one of the few chrome options here for European and Japanese cars. The single size keeps things simple, but if you need a wider rear or a different diameter, look at another design.

American Racing AR605 TORQ THRUST M
A modern take on the classic Torq Thrust five-spoke in chrome. It's offered in 16x7, 17x7.5, 18x8, 18x9 and 18x10 for 5x114.3, 5x115 and 5x127. This is the hot-rod look for Mustangs, muscle cars and restomods, and the 18x9/18x10 pair makes a staggered setup easy. It tops out at 18 inches, so it's not the one if you want 20s.

Raceline 940C Hostage
A chrome truck wheel in sensible sizes: 17x9, 18x9 and 20x9. It's offered in 5x139.7, 6x139.7, 8x165.1 and 8x180, so it covers older 5-lug trucks through 8-lug heavy-duty trucks. The 9-inch width is the friendliest fit on this page for trucks at stock height or with a level kit. If you're after big poke, step up to a 10 or 12-inch-wide design instead.

TIS 567C
An 8-lug-only chrome wheel offered in 22x12, 24x12 and 26x12, in 8x165.1 and 8x180. It's built for heavy-duty trucks that want big diameter and big width. There's no 6-lug or car option, which keeps it squarely in HD territory. A 12-inch-wide wheel at these diameters typically needs a lift and tire choice planned around it.

American Racing Vintage VN517 MARAUDER
A vintage-style chrome wheel that goes bigger than most classic designs: 18x9, 20x10, 22x9 and 22x10. Patterns are 5x120.65, 5x127 and 5x139.7, so it can work on classic cars and on older 5-lug trucks. Pick it over the VN516 if you want a 22-inch classic look. At 22 inches on an older car, clearance at the fender lip and suspension is the thing to confirm.

Status MAMMOTH
A big chrome wheel offered in 22x9.5 and 24x10. Patterns run from 5x112 and 5x114.3 up to 5x127 and 6x135, so it can dress up a large car or a truck. It's one of the few designs here that crosses over between cars and trucks. Only two sizes are offered, so check that the width and offset suit your ride height.

American Racing AR893 MAINLINE
A chrome truck wheel in modest sizes: 16x8, 17x8 and 18x8.5, for 6x135 and 6x139.7. It's the choice when you want a bright, classic truck look without going big or lifting anything. It's the smallest truck design on this page and keeps plenty of tire sidewall for a comfortable ride. If you want 20s or wider, look elsewhere.

Asanti Black ABL-37 MONARCH
A luxury chrome wheel for cars, offered in 20x9, 22x9 and 22x10.5, in 5x112, 5x114.3 and 5x115. The 22x9 front and 22x10.5 rear make a staggered pair for big sedans and coupes that want a wider rear. It's a step up in width over the Dolce Trento's 22-inch-free lineup. At 22 inches, check brake and fender clearance in the fitment search first.

Raceline 948C Split
A chrome truck and SUV wheel offered in 16x8, 17x9, 18x9 and 20x9. Patterns are 5x127, 5x139.7, 6x139.7 and 8x165.1, so it covers 5-lug, 6-lug and 8-lug trucks. It has the most size steps of the moderate-width truck designs here, down to 16 inches. Like the 940C, the 9-inch max width means it's about a clean fit, not a wide stance.

Chrome vs polished vs black chrome
Chrome is a plated layer over a polished wheel. It's a true mirror: you'll see the sky, the curb and your shoes in it. Polished aluminum is the bare metal buffed to a shine. It looks warmer and softer, closer to bright silver than a mirror, and it's often clear-coated.
They age differently. Chrome has a hard surface that shrugs off light brake dust, but once it gets chipped or salt works under it, it pits and peels. Polished aluminum can dull or oxidize, but it can be polished back by hand. If you like that softer shine, compare our polished aluminum wheels. When people search "polish chrome wheels," they usually mean one of two things: a chrome polish to bring back the shine, or a polished-aluminum wheel. Those are two different finishes.
Black chrome is a darker, smoky mirror. It still reflects light but reads as gunmetal-black from a few feet away. Some is plated and some is a PVD coating applied in a vacuum chamber. It works on dark paint where full chrome feels loud. One owner runs black chrome on a 2004 CLK500. If you want zero shine, go with gloss or matte black wheels instead.
Vacuum Chrome (Aodhan) and Nano Chrome (Azara, Cavallo) are chrome-look finishes made a different way than plating.
Chrome rims by size: 17, 18, 20, 22 and 24 inch
Chrome splits into two worlds. Trucks run 20 to 26 inches on 6-lug and 8-lug patterns. Cars and classics mostly run 16 to 20 inches, with a few luxury designs going bigger. Here's where the designs above land:
| Diameter | Truck chrome (6-lug, 8-lug, 5x127, 5x139.7) | Car and classic chrome |
|---|---|---|
| 16-17 inch | AR893 Mainline, Raceline 948C Split, Raceline 940C Hostage (17x9) | AR605 Torq Thrust M, VN516 G-Force (17x7), Foose F105 Legend (17x8) |
| 18 inch | AR893 Mainline (18x8.5), Raceline 940C and 948C (18x9) | AR605 Torq Thrust M (18x8 to 18x10), VN516, VN517 Marauder (18x9), Heritage Kokoro MonoC (18x8.5) |
| 20 inch | Moto Metal COMBAT (20x10), Fuel 1PC 402 (20x9), Raceline 940C and 948C (20x9) | VN516, VN517 (20x10), Foose F105 (20x8.5, 20x10), Dolce Trento (20x9), Asanti ABL-37 (20x9) |
| 22 inch | COMBAT (22x10, 22x12), Fuel 1PC 402 (22x12), TIS 567C (22x12) | VN517 (22x9, 22x10), Asanti ABL-37 (22x9, 22x10.5), Status Mammoth (22x9.5), MASSIV 926 (22x9) |
| 24 inch | COMBAT, Fuel 1PC 402 and TIS 567C (24x12), Fittipaldi FA25C (24x12, 24x14) | Dolce Trento (24x9, 24x10), Status Mammoth (24x10), MASSIV 926 (24x9) |
| 26 inch | TIS 567C (26x12), Fittipaldi FA25C (26x14) | MASSIV 926 (26x9.5) |
The VN517 Marauder also comes in 5x127 and 5x139.7, and the Status Mammoth comes in 5x127 and 6x135, so both can cross over to trucks.
Chrome wheels for pickups
On a truck, width matters as much as diameter. A 20x9 sits close to stock. A 22x12 or 24x12 with deep negative offset, like the TIS 567C in 24x12 -44 for 8x180, pushes the wheel well past the fender. That's the look, but it usually means a lift and some trimming. For a middle ground, the COMBAT in 20x10 -18 on 6x135 gives some poke without going huge.
Want a lot of lip? Browse deep dish designs. To shop by pattern, start with 6x139.7 (6x5.5) chrome options or the 6x135 lineup.
Chrome wheels for cars and classics
Chrome on a classic is all about proportion. A square 17x7 like the VN516 G-Force 17x7 in 5x120.65 keeps a period look. Small diameters on a modern car look odd, so most muscle and luxury builds go 20 inches. For more old-school styles, see our classic wheel picks.
Chrome wheels for Mustangs
Mustangs split into two groups:
| Years | Bolt pattern | Center bore | Factory sizes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1990-1993 | 4x108 (some trims 5x114.3) | 63.9 mm | 13, 14 and 7x16 +15 |
| 1994-2026 | 5x114.3 (some trims 5x108) | 70.6 mm | 15 to 19 inch, e.g. 7.5x17 +45, 8x18 +40, 9x19 +45 |
For a 1994-and-up car on 5x114.3, the AR605 Torq Thrust M is the move if you want the hot-rod look. Its 18x9/18x10 stagger fills the wheel wells nicely. The AR605 16x7 +35 shows the smaller end of that design, here in 5x115. The Foose F105 Legend and VN516 G-Force cover 20-inch builds. Factory offsets run +40 to +52, so check the exact offset against your car in the fitment search. If a wheel's center bore is bigger than 70.6 mm, use hub-centric rings. You can also see every 5x114.3 wheel.
How chrome looks on real cars and trucks
These are actual customer builds, and they show what sizes work:
| Vehicle | Front | Rear | Front tire width | Stance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2019 Dodge Challenger | 20x9 +15 | 20x10.5 +25 | 245 | Flush |
| 2009 Dodge Challenger | 20x8.5 +15 | 20x10 +20 | 245 | Flush |
| 2010 Dodge Challenger | 22x8.5 +15 | 22x10 +20 | 245 | Flush |
| 2014 Dodge Challenger | 22x9 +10 | 22x9 +10 | 265 | Flush |
| 2011 Dodge Challenger | 20x9 +15 | 20x9 +15 | 245 | Flush |
| 1985 Chevrolet Camaro | 17x7 0 | 18x9.5 0 | 225 | Nearly flush |
| 2002 Chevrolet Corvette | 19x10 +43 | 20x12 +59 | 275 | Flush |
| 2020 Toyota Tundra | 20x9 +12 | 20x9 +12 | 295 | Flush |
| 2017 Toyota Tundra | 20x9 +1 | 20x9 +1 | 315 | Flush |
A few patterns stand out. Challenger owners lean toward a 20x8.5 or 20x9 front with a 20x10 or 20x10.5 rear, which gives a flush, muscular rear without rubbing up front. The 2014 car shows you can go square at 22x9 +10 and still sit flush. On Tundras, a plain 20x9 works at both +12 and +1, with 295 or 315 tires. The 2012 Challenger drag build runs skinny 17x4.5 fronts with 17x10 rears, a different game entirely.
Tires and lug nuts with chrome
Chrome looks best with a bit of tire sidewall showing. On 24s and 26s you'll be on low-profile rubber, so the wheel does all the talking. Finish the job with chrome lug nuts and locks. Black or rusty factory lugs look out of place in a mirror face.
How to care for chrome so it doesn't pit or peel
- Wash often with car-wash soap and a soft brush or mitt. Brake dust left sitting is what starts the damage.
- Dry right away. Water spots show more on chrome than on any other finish.
- Skip acid wheel cleaners and anything labeled for heavy-duty brake dust. They can etch plating.
- No wire brushes, steel wool or abrasive pads. One scratch through the plating is where corrosion gets in.
- Wax or seal it a few times a year. A sealant makes the next wash easier.
- Winter salt is chrome's worst enemy. Rinse the wheels every few days during salt season, including the inner barrel, or run a winter set.

Questions
Are chrome rims and chrome wheels the same thing?
Yes, "rims" is just the everyday word for wheels. Technically the rim is the outer lip, but when people search chrome rims they mean the whole wheel.
What does a staggered chrome setup mean?
It means a wider wheel in the rear than the front. The AR605 Torq Thrust M (18x9/18x10), Foose F105 Legend (20x8.5/20x10) and Asanti ABL-37 (22x9/22x10.5) are all offered in sizes that pair up this way.
Do 24 inch chrome wheels ride rougher?
Usually, yes. A bigger wheel leaves less tire sidewall to soak up bumps, so 24s and 26s ride firmer and are more exposed to pothole damage than 20s.
Can peeling chrome be fixed?
Not with a touch-up like paint. Peeling or pitted chrome has to be stripped and replated by a plating shop, so preventing damage is the smarter plan.
What lug nuts do chrome wheels need?
The seat type has to match the wheel, whether that's conical, ball or flat. Using the wrong seat can let the wheel loosen, so check the wheel's spec before you buy lugs.
Will chrome wheels clear my big brakes?
It depends on the design, diameter and offset, because spoke shape changes caliper clearance. Check your exact car or truck in the fitment search before ordering.
