V-Band Clamps
V-Band Clamps: the quick-release joint that seals your exhaust
A v-band clamp is the fastest, cleanest way to join two exhaust or turbo sections. Instead of a slotted flange and a stack of bolts, you weld a pair of flanges to the pipe ends, drop a sealing ring between them, and draw the whole joint tight with a single band and one bolt. The wedge profile pulls the two halves together evenly as you torque it, so v-band clamps seal well, hold up to heat and vibration, and let you rotate or drop a section in seconds when you need to service a turbo, downpipe or midpipe. Anyone who has fought a rusted three-bolt flange under a car understands why they get used.
What ThreePiece stocks
This category currently shows 11 products across 5 brands: TiALSport, Ticon, Mishimoto, BD Diesel and ISR Performance. Prices run from $37 to $118, which is the live range for what is in stock right now, not a standing offer. The spread covers everything from a basic aluminum clamp to weld-on titanium flange ends.
Concrete examples: the Mishimoto Aluminum V-Band Clamp 4in. sits mid-range at $67.67, while TiALSport offers matched pieces for their MVR wastegates in the MVR inlet clamp and MVR outlet clamp. For diesel builds, the BD Diesel clamp for 4.62in Half Marmon Borg Warner turbo housings handles the turbine side. At the top of the range, Ticon Industries sells titanium weld ends as a matched pair - the 3.5in male weld end and its female counterpart, each at $117.80.
How to choose
Start with the diameter and the mating part. A wastegate or turbo clamp has to match that specific housing - the TiALSport and BD Diesel pieces are sold to suit particular components, so match them to what you're bolting to. For a general pipe joint, the size is what matters: pick the clamp that fits your tube OD. Material drives the price. Aluminum clamps like the Mishimoto keep cost down for general use; the Ticon titanium weld ends are the light, high-heat option and cost roughly double, which is why they sit at the top of the range. If you are welding your own joint, note whether you need matched male and female weld ends, as the Ticon pieces are sold that way.
What else you need
A v-band clamp is one piece of a joint. If you're welding a new joint you may also want fixed exhaust flanges and the right exhaust pipes to connect. Building further back? Fitment and ordering
None of these clamps carry vehicle-specific fitment data - they're sized to pipe and component dimensions, so measure and match.
