An uppipe kit replaces the section of pipe that carries exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold (or up-pipe collector) up to the turbocharger inlet. On turbo diesel and turbo gas engines this is a high-heat, high-stress joint that cracks, warps or clogs over time. Fitting a fresh up-pipe restores a clean flow path to the turbo and gives you a sound sealing surface, which matters both for spool-up and for keeping exhaust out of the engine bay. Most of the kits here bundle the gaskets you need to do the job right the first time.

For 08-10 6.4L Powerstroke, the BD Diesel up-pipes kit with manifold set at the top of the range gives you the manifolds too, while the BD Diesel 6.4L kit with EGR connector is the pipe-focused option. Duramax owners have two 2in stainless Wehrli kits with gaskets - the 17-24 L5P kit and the 01-04 LB7 single-turbo kit. Subaru turbo owners get the COBB 2in stainless up-pipe, the most affordable kit here. The trade-off is scope versus price: manifold-inclusive diesel kits sit at the high end because you replace more hardware in one go, while a standalone pipe like the COBB does one focused job for less.
