Slip On Exhaust: bolt-on sound and weight savings without cutting the whole system
A slip on exhaust replaces the muffler or silencer section of your bike or powersports machine, slipping over the existing mid-pipe and clamping into place. The rest of the factory system stays put, so it is the fastest way to change the character of the exhaust: it usually drops weight over a heavy stock canister, changes the note, and cleans up the look at the tail. On an ATV or UTV it swaps the stock silencer for an aftermarket can; on a touring bike it changes the mufflers on each side. Because you are not disturbing the header or the front pipe, install is far simpler than a full system.
What ThreePiece stocks in slip ons
This category currently shows 10 slip on units across three brands: Big Gun (8 of the sampled products), Vance and Hines, and Remus. Prices run from $429 to $1,076, which is the current range for what is in stock rather than a fixed promise. Every product listed carries fitment data. Coverage spans powersports and motorcycle makes including Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Harley Davidson and BMW, with model years from 2004 to 2025.
Concrete examples give you the spread. The Big Gun EXO stainless slip on for the 2013-2015 Outlander 500 and the Big Gun EXO stainless slip on for the 2017-2023 Polaris Sportsman 850/SP sit near the value end. The Vance & Hines Supersport slip on in chrome for 2017-2024 Harley Touring lands in the middle, and the Remus 2.0 Sport slip on in black stainless for the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS tops the range.
How to choose
Start with your machine type. ATV and UTV riders on Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris or CAN AM platforms will find the Big Gun stainless cans are the bulk of what is stocked and the more affordable path. Cruiser and touring riders are covered by the Vance & Hines chrome slip on, where finish is part of the buy. Adventure and sport riders on BMW look to the Remus stainless option, which is the premium end here. The trade-off is straightforward: the lower-priced stainless cans focus on weight and sound, while the higher-priced units add finish and brand-specific engineering. Match the exact make, model and year to your machine before ordering.
What else you may need
A slip on only changes the back of the system. If you want a bigger change, look at the parent Exhaust section and its siblings: Cat-Back Exhaust, Axle-Back Exhaust Systems, Headers, and Mufflers. For finishing the tailpipe or sorting connections, see Exhaust Tips and Exhaust Flanges.
