Bushings
Bushings: firm up the driveline without swapping the whole mount
A bushing is the flexible interface between a moving part and the chassis - the compliant sleeve inside a motor mount, trans mount, cush drive or suspension pivot. Bushings soak up vibration and let parts move on their intended axis. As the factory rubber ages and cracks, the engine and driveline start rocking under load, which shows up as sloppy shifts, wheel hop and a driveline clunk on throttle changes. Fitting firmer bushings or mount inserts controls that movement, tightens up the power delivery and puts the drivetrain back where it belongs.
What ThreePiece stocks
There are 33 bushings and mount inserts in this category right now, spanning 10 brands: Innovative Mounts and Energy Suspension lead the range with 10 and 9 items, followed by Prothane, then Brian Crower, Bikers Choice, Superpro, TwinPower, Whiteline, COBB and BD Diesel. Current pricing runs from $23 to $213 for what is in stock - that is the live range, not a fixed offer. Of these, 19 carry specific fitment data covering makes including Honda, Acura, Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Dodge, Scion, Hyundai and Harley-Davidson, across model years from 1965 to 2024. Named vehicles in the data include the Honda Prelude, Acura TL, Nissan Sentra, Subaru WRX, Scion XB and Honda CBR.
How to choose
The main trade-off in this category is stiffness versus street comfort. Polyurethane inserts and firmer durometer bushings, like the Energy Suspension Scion XB motor mount insert set, control movement more aggressively but transmit more vibration into the cabin. Full mount assemblies such as the Innovative 85A Prelude H-Series mount and its softer sibling the 75A version let you pick durometer by feel - the higher the number, the firmer the ride and the sharper the response. For trans mounts, Prothane offers the same part in two finishes, like the red Chrysler trans mount bushings and the black version. Motorcycle riders should note application-specific parts like the Energy Suspension Honda CBR cush drive bushing. Read the product notes closely - some mounts, like the Innovative Prelude items, must be used with a matching base part.
What else you need with it
Mount and bushing jobs often open the door to nearby work. Browse the Engine Components section for the supporting parts: fresh Gasket Kits and Head Gaskets if the engine is coming loose, plus Bearings, Pistons and Adapters when the build goes deeper. Cooling and feed hardware sit alongside in Radiators and Fuel Pumps.
Fitment and ordering
Not every bushing lists a vehicle, and some are sold as inserts for a specific mount position, so confirm the application before you buy.
