OE style booted ball joints and bonded rubber bushings maintain factory ride, handling and noise, vibration, & harshness (NVH) parameters. Audi's unique multi-link suspension creates a 'Virtual' SAI. The factory does not publish a specification for caster, but SPC recommends 5deg to 6deg of caster as a preferred angle for tracking and return to center on these cars. The maker's installation guide is on this page — see Installation guide under the part details for the step-by-step and the torque figures. Work on level ground with the car properly supported, and torque every fastener to the maker's figure. If the job is beyond your tools, any shop that does this kind of work can fit it.
Yes, every time a control arm is replaced: its ball joint and bushings set camber and toe.
Usually, when the arm is a complete assembly; the Part details and the maker's guide say what is included.
A lowered or lifted car pushes camber outside the stock range; adjustable arms bring it back so the tires wear evenly.
Replace both sides when the car is lowered or lifted so both corners adjust the same way. A single worn arm can be replaced on its own.
Torque the bushing bolts with the car at ride height, not hanging on a lift, or the bushings bind and wear early.
