What 225/60R17 means
In the size 225/60R17, 225 is the section width in millimeters (8.86 in), 60 is the aspect ratio — the sidewall stands 60% as tall as the tire is wide, or 135.0 mm (5.31 in) — R denotes radial construction, and 17 is the wheel diameter in inches. That works out to an overall diameter of about 27.63 inches, turning roughly 730 revolutions per mile.
