This is the CSF A/C condenser, part 10554, made for the 2000-2005 Ford Excursion with the 5.4L engine. The fit list covers the 2000-2005 Limited and XLT, the 2003-2005 Eddie Bauer and the 2004-2005 XLS.
The condenser sits at the front of the vehicle, ahead of the radiator. It takes the hot, high-pressure refrigerant coming off the compressor and cools it back into a liquid before it reaches the expansion valve. When a condenser is stone-damaged, corroded or clogged, head pressure climbs and cooling drops. A fresh one restores proper heat rejection. It is also a common replacement after a compressor failure, because debris gets pushed downstream into the condenser tubes.
Match it to your exact year and trim by picking your vehicle on the page to confirm fit.

Yes. Drain the old coolant, fill the new radiator with the coolant type your car calls for, then bleed the air out of the system.
Direct-fit radiators keep the stock fans and hoses; some need the included brackets or adapters. The maker's guide covers which.
Keep the stock thermostat unless the maker says otherwise. The radiator improves cooling; the thermostat sets when the engine opens to it.
On a tuned, towing or track car a thicker core keeps temperatures steady under long loads. On a stock daily driver the stock radiator is usually enough.
A thermostatic sandwich plate lets the oil warm up quickly in cold weather; many oil cooler kits include one.
