Spec 2010 Camaro SS / 05-06 Pontiac GTO LS2 Stage 3 Clutch - SC663 FAQ

Install and care: clutches

Before you start

  • Arrange flywheel resurfacing or a new flywheel at the same time.
  • Have the alignment tool, release bearing and pilot bearing ready before the transmission comes out.

Do

  • Follow the maker's break-in: easy driving, no hard launches, no slipping.
  • Torque the pressure plate bolts evenly in the pattern the guide shows.

Don't

  • Don't skip the flywheel work; it shortens the disc's life.
  • Don't launch or slip the clutch during the break-in.
