Skyjacker 1977-1979 Ford F-150 4 Wheel Drive Sway Bar Link - SBE204 FAQ
A stiffer bar cuts body roll in corners so the tires stay flatter on the road. A rear bar tends to make the car rotate more; a front bar tends to add stability.
Many bars reuse the stock end links; adjustable bars often come with or need their own. Check the Part details and the maker's guide.
No. A sway bar does not change ride height or alignment.
Not necessarily. Changing one end shifts the balance of the car; do both when you want less roll without changing the balance.
Bars with more than one end-link hole let you pick a softer or firmer setting. Start on the softest and move up.
Yes — monthly options show right under the Add to Cart button. Affirm, Klarna, PayPal Pay Later and Snap Finance are offered at checkout, and checking what you qualify for does not affect your credit score.
Install and care: sway bars
Before you start
- Check the end links; worn links are replaced at the same time.
- Soak rusty bracket bolts in penetrating oil before the job.
Do
- Grease the bushings with the grease supplied before fitting the brackets.
- Start on the softest setting of an adjustable bar.
Don't
- Don't fit the bar dry; a dry bushing squeaks.
- Don't preload the end links with the suspension hanging.
