Rocker Arms
Rocker Arms: the valvetrain link that decides how your engine breathes
Rocker arms sit at the top of the valvetrain, taking motion from the pushrod or cam and pressing it onto the valve stem to open each intake and exhaust valve. The ratio stamped on a rocker - for example the 1.725:1 or 1.640:1 sets shown here - multiplies lift at the valve, so swapping to a different rocker arm changes how far and how fast the valves open without touching the cam. Fit new rocker arms when the originals are worn or galled, when you want a roller design to cut friction, or when a ratio change is part of a broader build.
What ThreePiece stocks
This category currently lists 12 rocker arm products from 6 brands: S&S Cycle, Ford Racing, Skunk2 Racing, COMP Cams, Fleece Performance and TwinPower. Prices run from $44 to $714, which is the current range for what is in stock rather than a fixed price. Coverage across the sample points at Ford, Honda, Harley-Davidson and Dodge engines, including the Ford Mustang, Honda Prelude, Harley-Davidson Big Twin and M8, and Dodge HEMI and 2500/3500 platforms.
Concrete examples: the S&S Cycle 1984+ Big Twin 1.725:1 rocker arm set and the S&S Cycle M8 forged roller rockers sit at the top of the range. On the domestic V8 side, the Ford Racing Modular 3V kit with lash adjusters and the Ford Racing Mustang SVT 5.4L set cover modular engines. For Honda builds, the Skunk2 B-Series VTEC rocker set and the Skunk2 H-Series set ship as full sets of 24.
How to choose
Start with the engine, not the price. A Harley Big Twin or M8 owner is choosing between S&S Cycle sets; a modular Ford builder is looking at the Ford Racing kits; a B- or H-series Honda needs the matching Skunk2 set. After platform, decide whether you want a straight OEM-style replacement or a roller design to reduce valvetrain friction - the forged roller M8 set is an example of the latter. Watch what each kit includes: the Ford Racing 3V kit bundles lash adjusters, while others are rocker sets alone. If a ratio is listed, confirm it matches your intended cam and lift before ordering.
What else you need
Rockers rarely go in alone. Plan on fresh head gaskets or a full gasket kit when the valve covers or heads come off, and check bearings and pistons if the build goes deeper. Browse the full Engine Components section for the supporting parts, or the oil filters you will want for the first oil change after the job.
Fitment and ordering
10 of the 12 listings carry fitment data, with a year range spanning 1966 to 2033 across the sampled platforms. If you are unsure a set matches your engine, call fitment help at 813-535-5801 or reach us through contact us. All orders ship free, and Affirm and Katapult financing is available on the higher-priced sets.
