Oil Filters
Oil Filters: the small part that keeps your oil doing its job
An oil filter traps the grit, metal and carbon that circulate through your engine so the pump pushes clean oil to the bearings, cam and lifters instead of grinding contaminants into them. Most spin-on and cartridge oil filters also carry a bypass valve and, on many designs, an anti-drainback valve that keeps the filter primed so you get pressure fast on a cold start. Fit a fresh one at every oil change - a clogged or wrong filter is one of the cheapest ways to do expensive engine damage.
What ThreePiece stocks
This category holds 526 oil filters across 15 brands, with current pricing from $28 to $870 - that range is the live spread on what is in stock, not a promise on any single part. The largest brand presence here is aFe with 346 listings, followed by K&N Engineering with 102 and Airaid with 19. Motorcycle-focused brands are here too: TwinPower, ProFilter and S&S Cycle. Examples run from powersports spin-ons like the ProFilter Harley Spin-On Chrome PF-171C and its black PF-171B counterpart, to bulk shop packs like the S&S Cycle Sportster/Evolution 12-Pack and the S&S Cycle Twin Cam/M8 12-Pack.
Of the range, 193 listings carry fitment data covering model years from 1953 to 2025. Common makes include BMW, Ford, Toyota, Audi, Subaru, Jeep, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Nissan, with vehicles like the Subaru BRZ, Ford Mustang, Toyota Tundra, BMW X5 and Jeep Grand Cherokee appearing often. Powersports names such as Harley, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Polaris show up in product titles.
How to choose
Match the filter to the engine first, then decide on format and quantity. A single spin-on covers most street cars and one oil change. If you run a shop or service the same bike often, a 12-pack like the S&S Cycle options lowers your per-filter cost. The wide price spread reflects very different jobs: a common passenger-car filter sits at the low end, while specialty performance and chrome powersports filters push the top. Note that some listings in this section are air filters, like the aFe MagnumFLOW PRO Dry S for the BMW M3/M4 - read the title and fitment before ordering.
What else you need
Plan the whole service, not just the filter. Pair a filter change with fresh gaskets from Gasket Kits or Head Gaskets if you're deeper into the engine, and check Fittings and Adapters if you're plumbing a remote filter or cooler.
