Harmonic Balancer Bolt Kits
Harmonic Balancer Bolt Kits: the fastener and damper hardware your crank actually wants
The harmonic balancer bolts onto the front of the crankshaft, and its job is to damp the torsional vibration the crank sets up every time a cylinder fires. Left unchecked, that vibration cracks dampers, walks accessory belts and fatigues the crank snout. The bolt that holds it all together lives in one of the hardest-loaded spots on the engine, so this category covers both the balancer bolt kits that clamp the damper down and the dampers themselves. Our harmonic balancer bolt kits and damper range is built around parts that get torqued once and stay put.
What we stock
There are 35 products in this category from 3 brands: Fluidampr (25), ATI (6) and ARP (4). Prices currently run from $57 to $643 for what is in stock right now - that is the live range, not a locked-in quote. Fitment data covers vehicles from 1989 to 2024 across makes including Nissan, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Subaru, Toyota, Mazda and Audi. Named vehicles in the range include the Nissan 350Z, Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Camaro, Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru BRZ, Dodge Cummins, Ford Mustang and Ford GT.
How to choose
Split the decision into two questions. First, do you need a fastener kit or a full damper? If your damper is sound and you are just reassembling, an ARP kit like the ARP GM LS1/LS6 5.7L/6.0L Balancer Bolt Kit or the ARP SB Chevy Gen III LS7 12pt Balancer Bolt Kit gives you a proper clamp load at the low end of the price range.
Second, if the damper itself is being replaced, match the balance and construction to your engine. Fluidampr offers internally balanced dampers such as the Fluidampr Coyote 5.0L aluminum damper for 11-22 Mustangs and the Fluidampr 12V Cummins steel damper. ATI covers import and performance builds with the ATI Nissan GT-R damper and the ATI Ford GT500 5.4/5.8 damper. The right choice comes down to your crank's balance spec and pulley groove count, so confirm both before ordering.
What else you need with it
Replacing a damper usually means the front of the engine is open. Refresh the seals and gaskets while you are in there from Gasket Kits and Head Gaskets, and check Bearings if the crank is out. For the rest of the build, browse Pistons and the full Engine Components section.
Fitment and ordering
Because the wrong balance spec will vibrate an engine apart, verify fitment before you buy. Not sure which kit or damper suits your crank?
