Direct-fit radiators keep the stock fans and hoses; some need the included brackets or adapters. The maker's guide covers which.
Keep the stock thermostat unless the maker says otherwise. The radiator improves cooling; the thermostat sets when the engine opens to it.
On a tuned, towing or track car a thicker core keeps temperatures steady under long loads. On a stock daily driver the stock radiator is usually enough.
A thermostatic sandwich plate lets the oil warm up quickly in cold weather; many oil cooler kits include one.

- Let the engine cool fully before opening the system.
