The 4400 Series clutch system from McLeod is ideal for truck puller and high horsepower sand drag applications. Recommended for non shifting motorsport applications. This series features a Borg & Beck/Long pressure plate assembly, unique to McLeod that also includes counterweights providing additional high RPM lockup capacity. Steel flywheels are included with these systems along with low coefficient friction sintered iron discs. Due to the pin style drive on the floater plate, these multi disc clutches are not suitable for street applications as they will be very noisy at idle and low RPM. Kits Include: Steel flywheel, 2 LCF sintered iron discs, floater plate & Borg & Beck Long Pressure plate.

MeLeod 4400 Series Truck Pull - 4402-04 FAQ
The maker's installation guide is on this page — see Installation guide under the part details for the step-by-step and the torque figures. Work on level ground with the car properly supported, and torque every fastener to the maker's figure. If the job is beyond your tools, any shop that does this kind of work can fit it.
Resurface or replace the flywheel when the clutch is replaced; a worn surface shortens the life of the new disc. Some kits include a flywheel; see What's in the box.
Yes. Drive gently and avoid hard launches or slipping the clutch for the first stretch of driving so the disc seats to the flywheel and pressure plate. The maker's guide gives the exact break-in.
A stronger pressure plate makes a firmer pedal. Organic discs engage smoothly; ceramic or metallic discs grab faster.
Replace both while the transmission is out; many kits include them.
See What's in the box above. Kits range from a disc and pressure plate to full sets with bearings, an alignment tool and a flywheel.

Install and care: clutches
Before you start
- Arrange flywheel resurfacing or a new flywheel at the same time.
- Have the alignment tool, release bearing and pilot bearing ready before the transmission comes out.
Do
- Follow the maker's break-in: easy driving, no hard launches, no slipping.
- Torque the pressure plate bolts evenly in the pattern the guide shows.
Don't
- Don't skip the flywheel work; it shortens the disc's life.
- Don't launch or slip the clutch during the break-in.
