Install and care: clutches
Before you start
- Arrange flywheel resurfacing or a new flywheel at the same time.
- Have the alignment tool, release bearing and pilot bearing ready before the transmission comes out.
Do
- Follow the maker's break-in: easy driving, no hard launches, no slipping.
- Torque the pressure plate bolts evenly in the pattern the guide shows.
Don't
- Don't skip the flywheel work; it shortens the disc's life.
- Don't launch or slip the clutch during the break-in.
