DOT 5 is silicone-based and does not mix with glycol fluids - it is a different chemistry, so match it to a system built for it and do not top up one with the other. Match whatever your master cylinder and manufacturer specify, and when in doubt, stick with the rating your system was designed around.

Bottle size matters

A full flush uses more fluid than a top-off. The 250mL and 500mL bottles suit a single bleed; larger 16.9oz containers make sense if you are flushing a full system or doing several vehicles.
