What 245/75R22.5 means
In the size 245/75R22.5, 245 is the section width in millimeters (9.65 in), 75 is the aspect ratio — the sidewall stands 75% as tall as the tire is wide, or 183.8 mm (7.23 in) — R denotes radial construction, and 22.5 is the wheel diameter in inches. That works out to an overall diameter of about 36.97 inches, turning roughly 546 revolutions per mile. Overall diameter is what matters for speedometer accuracy and clearance when you change sizes, so compare it — not just the width — against your current tire.
The service description on this tire decodes to a load index of 134 — a maximum load of 4,674 lbs per tire, or 131 (4,299 lbs) per tire when mounted as duals. The speed symbol L corresponds to a maximum sustained speed of 75 mph.
