Bilstein B1 Series Replacement Wrench - E4-MTL-0008A00 FAQ
The maker's installation guide is on this page — see Installation guide under the part details for the step-by-step and the torque figures. Struts that bolt to the knuckle set camber, so an alignment is wise after replacing them. Rear shocks that only bolt to the axle or arm usually do not change the alignment.
Bouncing after bumps, nose-dive under braking, uneven tire wear and fluid on the shock body are the usual signs.
Only when the listing says they are made for it. A stock-length shock on a lowered or lifted car runs near the end of its travel and wears early.
Check the top mounts and bump stops while the strut is out; worn ones are usually replaced at the same time.
