Banks 13-18 Ram 6.7L Diesel Boost Tube System - Raw Tubes - 25995 FAQ
No tune is required for a larger intercooler on its own; it lowers the charge-air temperature with the stock tune, and tuned cars gain the most from it.
The core and end tanks, plus the couplers and clamps the kit calls for; some kits include new piping. Check What's in the box.
Kits are built to fit the listed cars. Some need the bumper trimmed or the crash bar moved, and the maker's guide says so.
An air-to-air intercooler needs no fluids. Water-to-air kits reuse or add a coolant loop.
A larger core and better end-tank design keep the intake air cooler under sustained load, so the engine makes steady power on a hot day or on track.
Install and care: intercooler
Before you start
- Check the maker's guide for any bumper or crash-bar trimming it calls for.
- Lay out the couplers and clamps against What's in the box.
Do
- Seat the couplers fully and tighten the clamps evenly; re-check them after the first drive.
- Keep the core clean of road grime so the air passes through.
Don't
- Don't drive with a coupler half-seated; it will blow off under boost.
- Don't pressure-wash the core at close range; it bends the fins.
