Slip-On Exhaust
Slip-On Exhaust: the quick swap that changes tone and shaves weight
A slip-on exhaust replaces the rear muffler section of the stock system - it slips over the existing mid-pipe or header and clamps in place, leaving the headers and cats where the factory put them. That is why it is the most common first exhaust job: fewer connections to break loose, no cutting, and on most bikes you can be done in an afternoon with hand tools. People fit one to change the sound, drop some weight over the stock canister, and get a look they actually want. Because it keeps the front of the system intact, it is a simpler swap than a full system.
What we stock
There are 60 slip-on exhausts in stock here from 4 brands. The bulk of the range is Vance & Hines (45 in the sample), followed by Akrapovic (11), Big Gun (3) and Remus (1). Prices currently run from $346 to $9,637 - that is the live range for what is on the shelf, not a fixed quote. Coverage skews heavily to cruisers and V-twins, with Harley Davidson Touring, Softail, CVO and Trike models leading, plus Indian Scout, Honda GL1800 Gold Wing, and sport applications like the Porsche Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3. Kawasaki, KTM, Yamaha and Arctic Cat also appear. Fitment data is attached to 59 of the 60 parts, spanning model years 1995 through 2025.
How to choose
The split is mostly platform and budget. For Harley Touring and CVO baggers, the Vance & Hines Hi-Output slip-on in Dark Chrome at around $919 is the sweet spot for chrome-look sound work. For UTV and side-by-side use, the Big Gun EXO stainless slip-on and the Vance & Hines Honda Talon 1000R stainless slip-on cover the machines you actually ride hard. At the top, titanium sport pieces like the Akrapovic 718 Cayman GT4 RS Race Line and the GT4 Slip-On Line with titanium tips are where the range tops out, with the Remus Gold Wing slip-on filling the touring middle. Decide by your machine first, then by material and finish.
What else you may need
A slip-on only replaces the rear section. If you want a bigger change, step up to a Cat-Back Exhaust or an Axle-Back System. For the front of the system look at Headers, Exhaust Pipes and Catalytic Converters. To finish the look or replace a worn can on its own, browse Exhaust Tips and Mufflers. See everything in the Exhaust section.
