Axles

Axles: the drivetrain link that turns your power into forward motion

Axles are the shafts that carry torque from the differential or transaxle out to the wheels. On front- and all-wheel-drive cars they run through CV joints to let the wheel steer and travel over bumps while still driving. When you add power, sticky tires and hard launches, the factory half shafts are usually the first thing to twist, click or snap. That is why people upgrade: a stronger axle and better joints keep power going to the ground instead of leaving you stranded at the strip. This category covers axles and complete axle kits across street cars, trucks, Jeeps and side-by-sides.

What ThreePiece stocks

There are 81 axle products here, spanning a current in-stock price range from $41 to $4,311. Six brands are represented, led by Driveshaft Shop with 40 products and Yukon Gear & Axle with 30, plus All Balls Racing, Bikers Choice, Ford Racing and DragonFire Racing. Fitment data is attached to 62 of the products, with model years from 1965 to 2024. Sampled makes include Chevrolet, Honda, Subaru, Acura, Nissan, Ford, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Can-Am and Harley-Davidson, on vehicles like the Honda Civic, Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, Acura Integra, Subaru Impreza, Nissan GT-R, Jeep Wrangler and Ford Mustang.

How to choose

Match the axle to what breaks and what you drive. For a high-horsepower AWD build, the pro-level rear axle and hub kits like the DSS GTR 1400HP+ kit for 08-14 cars or the 115mm CV version for 2015+ GT-R sit at the top of the price range. For a modern Mustang, the Ford Racing half shaft upgrade kit is a bolt-in strength gain. Off-road, chromoly axle kits such as the Yukon Dana 30 front kit or the Yukon Dana 44 rear kit for 07-18 Wrangler add spline count and joint strength for bigger tires. For a side-by-side, a single-position axle like the DragonFire Hydra front-left axle for the Can-Am Maverick X3 is the cheaper end. Check spline count, joint type and left/right position before you buy.

What else you need

An axle rarely goes in alone. If you are opening the diff, look at Differential Components, Differential Lockers and Differential Covers in the same section. Gear and chain-driven vehicles may also need Sprockets or Chain Components. Browse the full Drivetrain section to see everything together.

Fitment and ordering

Because axle fitment depends on spline count and diff type, confirm your setup before ordering. Call fitment help at 813-535-5801 or reach us through contact us. All orders ship free, and Affirm and Katapult financing is available on the bigger builds.
