SSR Wheels
SSR wheels: Japanese engineering, decades of motorsport pedigree
SSR wheels are one of the names that built the reputation of Japanese aftermarket forging. SSR is known for two things above all: featherweight monoblock designs that show up on track cars, and the three-piece Professor series that generations of enthusiasts have chased for its deep-lip stance and rebuildable construction. This isn't a fashion brand borrowing a heritage story - it's a wheelmaker with a real racing background and a catalog that runs from lightweight track fitment to show-quality three-piece builds. You can see the current range on the SSR hub page.
The SSR lineup, model by model
SSR splits into families. The GT cars are the modern monoblock line. The Professor and step-lip cars are the classic three-piece and multi-piece heritage. Below is a walk through the models we stock - this is a large catalog and not an exhaustive list, but it covers the wheels most buyers come to SSR for.
The GTV monoblock family
The GTV series is SSR's cast-and-flow-formed monoblock line, built for people who want a clean spoke design at a sane weight. The GTV01 and GTV02 are close siblings - both run 17, 18 and 19-inch diameters in FLAT BLACK and GLARE SILVER, with the face treatment being the difference between them. The GTV03 carries the same finish palette and diameters but drops the 4x100 option, focusing on 5-lug fitments. The GTV04 is the outlier of the group: it comes in a wider spread of narrow and wide widths from 15x5.0 up to 19x8.5, finished in METALLIC GRAY, and it's the most affordable way into the GTV name.
The GTX monoblock family
Where the GTV cars lean sporty, the GTX line broadens the diameter and bolt-pattern range. The GTX01 spans 15 through 19 inches in DARK SILVER and FLAT BLACK. The GTX03 keeps that diameter breadth but switches to BLACK GRAPHITE and PLATINUM SILVER - the two-tone-ish look that separates it from the 01. The GTX04 is the single-finish member, offered only in DARK GUNMETAL across 16 to 19 inches. All three are monoblock.
The Professor and three-piece heritage
This is the side of SSR that made the name. The Professor MS1 is a genuine three-piece wheel - a machined disk bolted to inner and outer barrel halves - in 18, 19 and 20-inch diameters, finished in Black. It's the flagship of a wider three-piece and multi-piece heritage range that includes the MS1R, MS3, MS3R and MS4, plus the SP-series step-lip cars like the SP1 and SP5, and mesh classics such as the Formula Mesh. If you want the deep-lip, rebuildable SSR experience, this is where it lives.
Construction and finishes
SSR splits cleanly by build method. The GTV and GTX cars are monoblock - one piece of aluminum, no bolts, lighter and simpler. The Professor MS1 and its relatives are three-piece, where a center disk sits between separate inner and outer barrels held together with hardware, which is what makes those big lips and future rebuilds possible.
Across the range you'll find factory finishes including FLAT BLACK, GLARE SILVER, DARK SILVER, DARK GUNMETAL, BLACK GRAPHITE, PLATINUM SILVER, METALLIC GRAY and Black. Each model page lists which finishes apply to that specific wheel.
Price and who SSR is for
SSR spans a wide price range. The monoblock GTV04 starts around $276, the GTX and other GTV cars sit in the $330-$450 band, and three-piece Professor wheels like the MS1 begin around $874 and climb past $1,290 per wheel as sizes and lip depths grow. That spread reflects real construction differences - you're paying for monoblock value at one end and hand-assembled three-piece craft at the other. SSR suits the buyer who cares about proper Japanese wheelmaking, whether that's a lightweight track setup or a show-grade lip.
